About this lesson

Blends at the End

In this first lesson, your child practiced reading and spelling words with four sounds.

​

We introduced blends, which are two consonants next to each other where both sounds are still heard (different from digraphs, which make one sound).

​

All blend words in this lesson had the blend at the end of the word, right after the vowel.

​

This helps your child learn to smoothly connect sounds—and prepares them for increasingly complex words in upcoming lessons.
